I was just emailing and calling all these companies and I was like “This is going to sound so weird but I just need a piece of metal bent … it needs to be laser cut and then it needs to be bent … that’s all that needs to happen. But it needs to be done right; it comes down to the QC (quality control) finish of the product, it needs to be very nice and that was the trickiest part … finding someone that could cut, bend, and paint our products as best as possible. So, that was a real challenge.
Hold on, there’s this company called OSH Cut that can take my design and then make it out of whatever stainless steel I want, but I can actually visualize it on their software. I was like, “This is crazy. You guys have a website where I can visualize the thing too … I don’t have to walk it through with some machinist guy on the phone, ‘Alright listen, you gotta worry about this part here, it’s going to be important.’ You know, I don’t have to walk through anyone … any sort of manufacturer … I can literally just plug it in on the software and be like, “OK I want a bend here, I want a tap here, and this is basically what it’s going to look like … and oh, I can get it painted if I want … no, that’s okay because I want stainless steel cause I want the effect. Oh wow, this is really cool, let’s see what happens.”
We got our first design made with you guys, and it worked beautifully! If anything, we were kind of living in the past a bit, and now we’re living in the future … and the future is great. It’s been a breeze to get prototypes made with you guys, and we’re loving it. I already foresee that OSH Cut will be able to help our business grow even more in the future and I’m really excited about that!
